When all elements of the body are in balance, you are in complete health. Working with you to identify symptoms and treat the root cause of your problem, we can restore balance in the body and establish lasting overall health.

The Body as Whole

Optimum health and vitality relies on a harmonious relationship between the various systems and structures within the body. An imbalance causes the body to readjust and compensate for the affected area. Imbalances may be the result of a variety of factors including injuries, stress, inflammation, illness as well as the natural aging process. In addition to addressing physical dysfunctions, emotional and psychological components of an individual are also carefully considered throughout treatment. At Balance, we believe that treatment with the aim of restoring overall health must focus on healing the body as a whole. Restoring balance and treating the underlying cause of your problem, instead of just the symptoms, allows our practitioners to create the optimum environment for your body to heal itself. With a holistic approach to healing, our goal is to provide you with overall wellness within the mind, body and spirit.

Individualized treatment

No one person is the same and as a result, no treatment plan will ever be the same. Everyone has a unique story that includes important details of their past history and current dysfunctions. At Balance, we take the time and care required to listen to your story. Our dedicated and knowledgeable practitioners work with you to identify the areas of imbalance within your body and create individualized treatment plans aimed at healing the underlying cause of your problem. Listening to your unique needs allows us to work in partnership as we guide you down the path to achieving vitality, long-term health and overall wellness in your daily life.

Core Principles

At Balance, the philosophy of Osteopathy lies at the heart of everything we do. Based on four core principles, we build individualized treatment plans to ensure you receive the upmost care and support throughout your healing process.

1) The Structure Governs The Function

Every structure in the body influences the function of the tissues and organs that it works in unison with. The structures of the body, including bones, ligaments, muscles and fascia, must remain unrestricted to ensure they do not impinge on the surrounding nerves and blood vessels. When the structures are off, dysfunction will result. Ultimately, this can impact the entire physiology of the body. If one structure in the body is restricted or damaged, the body will not function optimally.

2) The Rule of the Artery is Absolute

Fluids within the body must be able to circulate without restriction. This natural and free flow of fluids regenerates the body and helps with the removal of toxins and waste. Restricted blood flow, however, will reduce the amount of oxygen, nutrients and hormones passing throughout the body and jeopardize the health of all tissues. Restricted flow of all fluids can compromise all tissues’ ability to perform their physiological functions. The free movement of fluids within the body is therefore essential to optimal vitality and health.

3) The Body Functions as a Unit

The human body functions as one complete and integrated unit. If one structure within the body is restricted the body will respond and readjust, creating an imbalance. When treating imbalances and dysfunctions, the body must be considered as a whole in order to establish overall health. The physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological systems work intricately within one another and, therefore, must be treated as such. When there is a state of balance and harmony within the body, mind and spirit, there is complete health.

4) The Body has the Ability to Self-Regulate

When there are no restrictions, the body has the inherent ability to self-regulate and to heal itself. Balance within the various systems of the body stimulate it’s own self-healing and self-regulating processes, aiding in a return to health.
